All five sites, backed up and audited
We have taken full backups of all five WP Engine sites, prestan.com and its staging copy, Latin America, Asia and the Middle East, onto First Form infrastructure and reviewed each one in detail.
The review confirms what the team already feels day to day. The regional sites are copies of prestan.com on the same theme, page builder and plugin stack, 35 to 38 plugins each, and after two months they have started to drift apart in versions and product content. That is what makes editing slow and inconsistent. It is the structure, not the people.
The database size WP Engine raised is routine cleanup rather than a reason for a larger hosting plan, and we take care of it as part of the handover.
Everything website related, from day one
We look after all sites as they stand, on WP Engine, including updates, security, backups and performance.
We complete any work still open on any site, including the regional launches, so nothing stalls during the handover.
New pages, new features and bigger projects, large and small.
We manage the WP Engine account, licences and plugins so every part of the setup is owned by Prestan.
Both work well. One is the better long term choice.
One WordPress site per region, each maintained and updated on its own.
Shared content managed once and published to every regional site.
Each region still manages its own pages, contacts and distributors.
We have already built a working prototype of the central system. See the prototype
The prototype is behind a review password, shared separately.
Any regional site that has not yet launched is a low risk first move onto the new system, and we would suggest starting there. Which one is your call.
Six simple steps, with nothing switched off until its replacement is ready
Prepaid hours for everyday work, fixed quotes for projects, and usually both at once
Buy hours up front at a better rate ($90 and $80 an hour). Your hours never expire, and every job summary shows the balance remaining. The simplest way to keep every site improving.
For anything over about 10 hours, such as a regional launch, the central system or new functionality. You receive a written quote first and pay by milestone, which is often the more cost effective route.
One monthly fee covering every site, hosting management, updates, security, backups and the monthly report. The figure depends on one decision, whether we continue with separate regional sites or move to one central system. The central system is considerably more cost effective to manage, and the costed plan will show both.
All pricing in USD, invoiced monthly. Prepaid hours never expire. Project quotes are fixed once approved, and any change in scope is quoted again before we proceed.
Two decisions, then the costed plan
